Factory Reset of Yealink Desk Phones (T46U/T46S)

Factory reset from the phone menu (recommended)

  1. On the phone, press and hold 'OK' for 5 seconds.
  2. When prompted to 'Reset to Factory Settings', press 'OK'.
  3. When prompted, enter the admin password:
    • Default is often admin (unless your IT/provider changed it).
      1. To enter ‘admin’, press the following keys: 2-3-6-444-66 (this spells 'admin' in ACSII-entry - like old-school texting...) :-)
      2. If that password doesn't work, please try '347479989' as the admin password.
        1. This has to be entered as numbers - please see the video below to see the easiest way to do this so you don't end up with an ASCII-entry nightmare.

      3. If the admin password does not work, please scroll down and refer to the "Yealink Recovery Mode Reset" instructions (below the video window)
  4. Choose Reset to Factory (sometimes shown as Factory Reset).
  5. Confirm OK when asked.

The phone will reboot and come back as new after a few moments.




Yealink Recovery Mode Reset:

1.      Hold the Speaker button

2.      While continuing to hold the speaker button, unplug the ethernet/power cable and plug it back in so that the phone reboots. Do not let go of the speaker button during this process.

3.      Once booted it will display a screen that asks if you’d like to boot up in recovery mode, let go of the speaker button and click 1 for ‘Yes’

4.      Let the phone boot, once it is booted up, hold the ‘OK’ button and it will prompt for factory reset, press ‘Yes’
