Troubleshooting E-prescribing in Practice Fusion and ID.ME

ID.ME is an identification verification platform. This is the security verification that many EHR's utilize to verify a clinicians license and DEA's. This is mandatory to e-prescribe. Once the set-up is completed, it can take 7-10 days for the verification to take place.  The system will not allow more than one email linked to an identity. Commonly, an old account must be deleted to resolve issues when there is a conflict.

Practice Fusion's Help Desk can assist (https://www.practicefusion.com/forms/support-ticket/index.html). However, the ID.ME profile has to be managed by the clinicians. It requires a valid driver's license and part of multi-factor authentication is a " selfie from their phone".

Please refer to this link for further information on how to delete and old ID.ME account:

** The key take away is the email addresses have to match the user account for the systems they are using. If there is an attempt to add a new email address to ID.ME, the other systems will be shut down and give them an error message.
